On our last South African safari, we sampled a few camps in different areas and fell in love with MalaMala. Their motto: “It’s all about the wildlife.” resonated with us and the whole reason we love safaris. We also learned that they had just finished a renovation of the famous Rattray’s Camp and we were […]

Barren Yet Beautiful Namibia
We had seen a picture of the famous Skeleton Coast hotel, the Shipwreck Lodge in a magazine once. I remember us both saying wow wouldn’t it be amazing to stay there. With this in mind, we planned our Namibia trip over the course of one week with three stops. We would start with Sossusvlei for […]
We have a convenient SunPass sticker that lets us drive through tolls on local Florida highways charging the fees to our credit card on file. Not only do we save money on the tolls but it is super handy! When traveling, the rental car companies charge an arm and a leg for tolls if you […]
After a couple of failed attempts to visit the Rhine Valley, we both had huge smiles as the Lufthansa 747 left the ground on the way to Frankfurt, Germany. We had twice planned this trip having gone through the exercise of researching the locations, choosing and reserving great hotels, and making detailed maps of what […]
When we first saw a cruise itinerary that did Cozumel, Costa Maya, Belize, and Roatan the first thing that came to mind was scuba diving. What a great way to experience multiple top-notch dive locations and have a cruise ship transport us around! So, is it a good idea to take a cruise with the […]
One of our first exotic dive destinations was Thailand. While we were just newly certified and this was mostly a traditional holiday, we could not resist the opportunity of diving in the Andaman Sea. Diving in Phuket was the perfect conclusion to our Thailand adventure and a great dive destination. Up until then, we had […]
A Few Days in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
We took a cruise that ended in Rio de Janeiro and opted to spend a couple of extra days to enjoy this amazing city. The scenery was really beautiful with all the mountains and sea views. My favorite by far was the iconic egg-shaped Sugarloaf Mountain in the background of the bay. Just picture-perfect.
When we booked a cruise sailing from Buenos Aires to Rio with a few stops in Brazil and one in Uruguay, we were mostly excited about the bookends of the cruise. Because we had always wanted to visit both cities, we added a pre-cruise stay in Buenos Aires and a post-cruise stay in Rio de Janeiro. Before […]
After doing (and loving!) Victoria Falls we had been planning to visit Iguazu Falls for quite some time. It all came together when we got a deal on a Buenos Aires to Rio cruise, and we opted to add a few days as a pre-cruise to visit Buenos Aires and do the short trip to […]
On our recent trip to South America, we had organized a direct flight from Miami to Buenos Aires with a short stop before taking a local flight to Iguazu Falls and back. While American Airlines had a generous luggage allowance (even more so for elite members) we saw that our local Aerolinas Argentinas flight was not […]
