Some of you may remember, and some of you may even have been there, but last summer we participated in a pier cleanup at the Deerfield Beach Pier, and in an attempt at setting a world record for the Longest Human Chain Underwater.
Last Sunday we went to go take part in SOS’s beach cleanup in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. More than a beach cleanup, this was an informative day with kiosks and tables setup by a number of local environmental causes and organizations including sea turtles, sharks, rescue a reef, and even some local dive shops.

We had a wonderful opportunity to witness a baby turtle release with some students and volunteers from NSU (Nova Southeastern University). This was a sold out event put on by the Broward County Sea Turtle Conservation Program to promote awareness about sea turtles.
