This small island located in the southern Caribbean is part of the Netherland Kingdom. Willemstad, the capital, is probably the most colorful of the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao) that we visited.
It’s easy to explore this lovely city on your own. The port is within walking distance of the downtown area. The Queen Emma Bridge floating bridge and ferries makes it easy to get around.
During our limited time in port we had plenty of time to explore this lovely city before going to the beach. The water was warm, calm and crystal-clear. Perfect for snorkeling or kayaking!
An easy way to get to the beach is simply to take a taxi. At the end of the day our driver came back to pick us up and got us back to our ship in a timely fashion. On top of that, we only had to pay the fare upon our return to the port, which was a nice touch and also reassuring.
