The Middle Keys was a new area in Florida for us to go scuba diving. We were excited at the idea since we had done some diving around Key Largo and Key West before and loved it. So, we figured that the diving in the Middle Keys would also be excellent. What’s more, we had […]

We used to go out to see some interesting dive sites around South Beach including the Army Tanks and Tenneco Towers dive sites. The last dive operator that (we dove with regularly) used to charter a boat out that way, but they have since closed down. When Divers Cove organized a trip with Deco Divers leaving […]
The Neptune Memorial Reef is a man-made reef located 3.25 miles offshore from Key Biscayne in Miami. It’s an artistic rendition of the Lost City of Atlantis and makes for a different and unforgettable scuba diving experience. The Neptune is an underwater burial site and is a protected sanctuary thriving with marine life.
Located just off Fort Lauderdale Beach, Hog Heaven is a dive site that includes a 180-foot barge that was intentionally sunk in September 1986 as part of the Florida Artificial Reef Program. Thirty plus years of growth is well evident on the wreck and it’s literally covered in coral and full of life!
We finally had the chance to dive the famous Blue Heron Bridge dive site and we know now why it has been voted the best shore dive in the United States! Also, snorkelers can enjoy the easy access Phil Foster Park Snorkel Trail.

Some of you may remember, and some of you may even have been there, but last summer we participated in a pier cleanup at the Deerfield Beach Pier, and in an attempt at setting a world record for the Longest Human Chain Underwater.
We finally got our chance to dive the Ancient Mariner wreck off Deerfield Beach. It was the perfect February day with lots of sunshine and flat seas. We love Florida winters, and even the 75-degree seas aren’t so bad with a 3mm suit and a hoodie 🙂 With 30-40 feet visibility and only a small […]
The Florida Keys have a lot of wrecks, and with our weekend trip we picked the two largest, and the two bookends of the Florida Keys Shipwreck Trail. We’d been dreaming of doing these two world-famous wrecks for a while now, and could not resist. After our experience I can say that the sheer size of […]
This was our first time out after Hurricane Irma, and you never know what can happen when such a massive force of nature comes barreling through the neighborhood. Nothing is safe, not on land or underwater. We’d heard stories of wrecks split in half, overturned, or moved a fair bit after the effects of prior hurricanes. Even with […]
