The island of Roatan is part of Honduras. Its waters are bustling with sea life, which makes it a great destination for scuba diving and snorkeling. We visited twice by cruise ship and both times we went scuba diving. I have to say however that after a few years there was less sea life than before.
Large groupers roam the waters surrounding Roatan. This 5ft one swam by to check us out!

We only had a bit of time to explore around Mahogany Bay. Many shops are in proximity of the cruise ship. There is even a chairlift to take you to a small beach near by. It’s also possible to walk to the beach on the other side of the bridge.
