This is one of the oldest cities in South America and it’s located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Our first idea was to take an excursion to the Tayrona National Natural Park.
This nature park is reputed for its biodiversity and is the place to go to observe wildlife in Colombia. Unfortunately, our excursion was cancelled for unforeseen reasons by the cruise operator. So, we had to pick something else at the last minute.
Our second choice to a cascade wasn’t available either. So instead we opted to go to a resort for a fun day at the beach. This is where, we bought a beautifully carved stone mask for our collection from a local artisan.
Another idea would be to take a city tour and visit Santa Marta’s historical sites.
