Stoked on Salt founder Lisa Miceli-Capano grew up in Fort Lauderdale and according to her bio on her website was just disheartened with all the damage caused to the reefs and her ocean backyard over the years. She founded SOS Beach Clean Up in 2014 and has built up an army of over 2,000 volunteers aged 4-85 who take on the challenge of cleaning up and protecting our beaches and reefs. They are part of Project Aware Dive Against Debris among others and partner with others regularly.
SOS has some really nice apparel on their website available for order as well as various art pieces made up of debris collected on her cleanup outings. We’re really happy to have met Lisa at the Blue Wild Ocean Adventure Expo and it inspires us to know there are people like her out there making a difference. We intend to join her on some of her beach cleanup initiatives in the future…
